Step Back to a Quieter Time Where the Décor Reflects the Nature Around It!

Situated on the Pacific Ocean at the Tropic of Cancer between Cabo San Lucas to the south and La Paz to the east lays the sleepy town of Todos Santos, recently named Pueblo Magico or Magic Town. It’s easy to drive right through and barely notice the place. ..more

This is part of the magic of Posada La Poza, a charming eight room Boutique Hotel which goes far beyond a bed and breakfast. It is nestled on the beach just next to a unique fresh water lagoon and palm grove. Designed in a modern-traditional Mexican décor, the comfortable accommodations are decorated in vivid hues using hand painted tiles, authentic Mexican textiles and tasteful wood accents. All eight generously designed rooms have a private terrace and a view of the gardens, the saltwater pool, the saltwater Jacuzzi and on the fresh water estuary which is a bird sanctuary. The rooms with their spacious bathroom (large walk-in showers and separate wc) do not miss anything except for the TV and telephone. "Although our room service ends at 7pm, the restaurant is accommodating you until 9pm and our receptionist is at your service around the clock." Wi-Fi in all the rooms is as normal as the a/c, ceiling fan, refrigerator, stereo and safety box and many more amenities.

In the morning, fresh coffee, tea and cookies are served in the garden, allowing plenty of time to wake up slowly to the tranquil rhythms of the oasis environment. A rich and healthy breakfast consisting of home-made bread, Swiss muesli or fresh fruits and cereals, egg dishes, muffins and pancakes, tropical fruit juices and strong coffee or tea-pot fresh teas is being served in the restaurant.

The Restaurant El Gusto! features fine dining in the Mexican traditional style with a fusion of International cuisine. Lunch and dinner with daily specials are a real treat. Some of the house specialties such as a vegetarian tortilla soup, pork fillet on a prune chipotle sauce, a Zuri-Geschnetzeltes with Rösti, fresh fettuccini on a truffle oil sauce and many more are just rounding up the frequently changing menu with the freshest catch, seafood or sumptuous cuts of beef. Using only the freshest ingredients, Chef Juerg and his crew are keeping up a reputation for serving some of the finest non-traditional fare in the region, blending Mexican and European flavors into savory combinations.

Lunch is served on the terrace while dinner is being offered in the dining room next to the bar which is a full bar in its best definition. Not only is the bar well stocked, but the wine list is one of the best of Mexican wines in which the owners have specialized. One of the best margarita in Baja are mixed here aside the own La Poza creations amongst which is the famous “Royal Margarita”. This bar also supplies the sunset drinks to the “Top 10 rooftop bars in the West” (sunset magazine July 2007) from where you not only watch the magnificent sunsets, but also the whales, the bird sanctuary and the beauty of nature.

The hotel is reached by a dirt road just south of the center of town. Follow the blue and orange painted signs to the beach and if you get lost, just ask the locals and they can guide you in. It is a trip well worth the adventure of getting here. Be prepared to stay a while and immerse yourself in the warm, tropical ambiance of La Poza because once you arrive, you’ll find it most difficult to leave.
